The book contains ten short stories, each with a twist—a moment when the story suddenly takes an unexpected turn. The order of the stories reflects the chronology in which I wrote them. I have a few favourites, but I particularly like Anita and The Gardener.
Each story includes a small illustration.
Here you can see a detail from a Persian rug I inherited from my grandmother. It was already in her house when she moved in back in 1938. Even the cover of my book features an actual hole in this very rug. I could probably write a story about the carpet itself, too...
